When I was in high school we got to the point where my family could finally afford a cleaning person. Not that I ever saw any dirt anywhere; it was just a thing I guess. I’ll never forget how my mother would freak out in order to clean the house before the cleaning person got there so the cleaning person wouldn’t think we were slobs.

So funny! If we ever hired a cleaning person, my mom & m-i-l would think we were getting a divorce. Wish we could – hire a cleaning person that is. Maybe then the piles of books and papers & stuff would get sorted out… or maybe not.

I happen to be one of the ones who thinks cleaning is therapeutic. I do it, especially when I have to preach. It helps me clean my head. clean house, meditative opportunities, thus good sermon.

However. When I am living with another person, and there is double the mess, I will want to make sure we have enough money for a cleaning person.
Because I am NOT a masochist. And since my other person is planning to impregnate me forthwith, there will be a cleaning person especially when there is a baby.

which is not for another 2 years, but I will start planning now.

Oh my god, I can’t breathe I’ve been laughing so hard. Particularly the “she has NUN CLEANED” part. Bwaaaahhhh!!!

Now that’s out of my system, I have something important to say:

There is nothing wrong with having a cleaning person.

If you have the means, and you have better things to do with your time (like, you know, saving the world and stuff, which you both do every day, and J, you and T, too!!), then by all means pay someone else to clean for you. You should not have to spend the little down time that you have scrubbing your bathrooms.

Well, unless you like that sort of thing. I have known people who see housework as therepeutic. I am so not one of them.

That’s hilarious, and you’ve given me the strength to admit we have a cleaning lady, too. I shall blog about it forthwith.
